Hej Queenie!

Man vet att Göteborgssommaren är i gång när M2's Backyard öppnar. Som en slump är det precis vad som händer den här veckan, och på torsdag slår fyra år gamla torsdagsklubbenSpinachäntligen upp portarna igen. Under premiärkvällen står ingen mindre än London-dj:n och -producenten Queenie bakom skivspelarna, så Djungeltrumman kände att det var på sin plats att skicka över ett par frågor till festens mittpunkt.

You're coming to Gothenburg on thursday, what can we expect from your set?

– Yes, I'm very excited to be djing here. I like to mix to it up each time I play, house, garage, anything that takes me in the moment. Expect some Queenie exclusives as well!

What will you be bringing with you from the London scene?

– I will be bringing all the tunes that I love at the moment, there are so many great producers and artists in London and I love playing their tunes to a new audience.

And what are you definitely leaving in England?

– Hopefully the rain!

You're a clasically schooled singer, violinist and pianist. How come you started dj:ing and producing?

– I grew up listening to dance music. Old house, garage, jungle. There was so much music being played in my house so naturally I wanted to start making it and producing. My brother was a dj as well and he inspired me to become one myself.

What would your absolute dream gig be like?

– Stevie Wonder would be performing one of my songs with me on stage!

Finally, what are you up to this summer? Have you got any big plans?

– There's lots going on this summer. There is a remix EP of And Every coming out on Greenmoney Recordings and it features remixes from none other than Zed Bias (Maddslinky) and Walter Ego. I'm really excited for everyone to hear it. I am also playing at Secret Garden Party on the Pagoda Stage and as for the rest of it you'll have to wait and see!
