Hej Noah And The Whale!

Hello! How are you?

– Hey! Excellent thank you. Having an epic day revelling in the stunning weather and sights of Gothenburg. It's great to be back on tour.

For those who do not know, who are you guys?

– We're a 5 piece band from London called Noah and the Whale, out on tour promoting our brand new fourth album"Heart of Nowhere."

Yeah, your latest album is the fourth album in just five years. How do you manage to work so quickly?

– By constantly touring, as the band inevitably progresses and develops, new sounds and ideas become more readily available to you. It fuels the need to try out the next project and throw yourself into new ideas. Time also flies much quicker when you're busier.

So tell me, what are your hopes for the tour?

– We just want people to have a really good time at our shows and we aim to deliver killer rock'n'roll energy in a set packed full of punch, occasional beauty and with plenty of dancing and sing-alongs. It's such a pleasure to visit and in many places re-visit great cities we've got to know and love over the years, and perform to such great crowds.

The last couple of years a lot of bands from the English folkrock scene (like you guys, Mumford & Sons, Laura Marling, Johnny Flynn, Eugene McGuinness and so on) have become really big, and are playing bigger and bigger stages. Why do you think that is?

– I think it's because they're all united by the fact they're great acts, with a strong work ethic, playing real music and actual songs people can get excited about.

What are you longing for right now?

– A strong coffee, a run around Gothenburg and a great show tonight.

What are you up to next?

– We're off to Oslo, and then a slew of great festivals over the summer before touring resumes back in the autumn. It's going to be a great summer.
