Hej Miss Jools!

Vi vill ge en rejäl klapp på axeln till klubben Seasons på Nefertiti. Inte bara för att de ger oss fina kvällar med jämna men visserligen långa mellanrum, fyra om året som säsongerna ni vet, men även för att de har en uttalad 50/50-policy vad gäller könsfördelningen i dj-båset. I kväll har de även den goda smaket att bjuda in Miss Jools, eller Julia Porter, som är dj och producent och förmoldligen inte ett främmande namn för någon som gillar deep house, techno och allt underjordiskt elektroniskt.

Hi Julia! Tell us a little bit about yourself!

– Hey! Well it all started back in the early 90's when I got heavily in the dance scene and going out every weekend with friends to party the weekends away. Alot of friends used to throw parties and we would always have an afterparty back at someones house, and this is where I jumped up on the decks and basically never got off!

You´re a dj and you produce your own work, wich one do you prefer?

– I can't say I have a preference, although dj-ing for sure will always be my first love. but there are days when I'm locked down in the studio and it all comes together, these days are priceless!

What will happen to us on tonight?

– Hopefully you'll hear music that makes people dance in Sweden. It's actually my first time here so I'm curious and excited to see the reaction. Basically I play quality underground electronic music. So we'll just have to see what happens tonight!

Is Berlin still the place to be?

– I'm not going to say that Berlin is the only place you should be, but for sure Berlin's electronic music scene has the most to offer, I believe. The city is a huge melting pot of so many dj's, producers, artists, creatives and is home to some of the most important labels and Clubs in the world. We have Berghain for example. For me one of the most unique special clubs in the world to play and to party in!

You´re a good spokeswoman for Berlin!

– I'm still in love with Berlin just as much as I was 5 years ago when I first arrived and yes, I would highly recommend Berlin to anyone who wants to be in the heart of a pulsating exciting electronic music scene to come live here and try it for themselves… They probably will come and not leave!
