Hej Krystal Klear!

Krystal Klearheter Declon Lennon till vardags och är en 24-årig irländsk dj och producent. Första egna släppet kom 2010 och sedan dess har han bland annat hunnit med att göra program för BBC, spelat världen över och sammarbetat med bland annat Skream, Cooly G och Hudson Mohawke. Utöver musiken tar alltså Krystal Klear med sig ett tungt CV tillLounge(S)på fredag kväll.

Hi Krystal Klear! How are you doing today?

– Ye I'm good… But tired after a late night in the studio and early start today, but otherwise I'm good.

So, you're coming to Gothenburg on friday! What can we expect from your set at Lounge(s)?

– I'm not really sure…I generally like to play in the moment and work out what people are feeling out of the stuff I like. But generally a mixture of disco and house.

What's the irish dance music scene like?

– I couldn't really give you an honest answer on that just because I've been living in Manchester now for about 5 years… When I did live there there wasn't too much happening but I can imagine alot has changed.

You started out playing in punk- and metalbands in Dublin, how come you ended up making electronic smusic instead?

– Mostly Metal bands but even from an early age I was listening to a wide range of stuff and while trying to tear licks on my ibanez I was making Earth Wind and Fire minidisc mixtapes. So my horizons have always been very broad and very different.

Yeah, cau'se your sound is a mix of a little bit of everything, how would you describe it yourself?

– Ultimately I aim for my music to sound authentic (to the best possibility) and to be an example of all the genres I love… I dont wanna hold back with my music or make one specific thing, my main goal is for it to sound like me.

How will you get the dancefloor going on Saturday?

– Good music generally does the trick…

And what expectations do you have for the Swedish crowd?

– I heard swedish crowds are great, so Im looking forward to it.

You've been playing around the world, done mixes for the BBC and gotten support from a bunch of big name dj:s. What are you the most proud of?

– Mmmmm… tough call… I mean, I've had some great stuff happen to me over the past few years which I'm extremely thankful for. One thing that will always stand out will be the Red Bull Music Academy, which is something I'm extremely proud to have been a part of.

What's most crystal clear of all the crystal clear stuff in the world?

– Questions like this kill me….I want to be witty then again I want to be intelligent and deep so I'm just gonna avoid it or give a crap answer like "water", haha.
