Att Woody West och WWDIS skulle vara en match gjord i himlen kändes tippat, men att det skulle uppstå så mycket ljuv musik av samarbetet kunde inte ens vi räkna ut. Hi Jackson Scott! What are you up to?

– Hanging out, about to play a show with Jacuzzi Boys in Berlin.

How's the tour life treating you? Which has been the best gig so far?

– Tour life is quite interesting, very fun, very intense. Hard to say a best gig, we played a real fun one in Strasbourg France at this tiny cafe with no stage but everyone was super into it.

You're coming to Gothenburg next week, could you maybe give a little hint of what a Jackson Scott gig is like?

– Well, I hate setting up expectations but I will say that we like to get very weird at our shows and have fun, so maybe it could be comparable to a psychedelic experience or maybe a complete anxious breakdown.

Earlier this year you released your debut album. Would you say it's the best record ever made?

– It's either that or the first DMX album.

I've understood that Syd Barrett's a hero of yours. Why?

– His art speaks for itself. The approach to chords and structure and melody is completely transcendent. His music is like an endless well that one can get completely lost in.

And can we please, once and for all, establish that Piper at the Gates of Dawn is the best record Pink Floyd ever made? People always disagree when I say that, and it annoys me.

– Yes. I got into some of the other Floyd albums before Piper, but once you get into it I really don't think there's any going back.

If you could put together you're own festival, where would it be, and who'd be on the lineup?

– It would be in Tokyo and we would have Thee Oh Sees, Wu Tang Clan, Dead Weather, My Bloody Valentine, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Deerhunter, and Goat.

I read there's a gay pornstar named Jackson Scott. Would ever consider some kind of collaboration? Not sure how that'd work but I'm sure you could come up with something.

– Yeah, we've been in contact and I'm going to do the soundtrack for one of his videos. It's going to be a very beautiful ambient kind of track, lots of piano and atmospheric guitars, all set to hardcore sex.

You're touring until late november, what's your plans after that?

– I want to get back to Asheville and record some more music. Also, maybe I can mellow out and hang with some friends, that would be quite fun.
