G-Sideär duon från Huntsville i Alabama, som gör hiphop som kanske låter lite annorlunda än vad du är van vid. Med referenser som löper från techno till pop skapar de ett eget unikt sound, och det är just det soundet de har med sig tillHoodlumspå Nefertiti ikväll. Jag tog ett snack med Stephen Harris och David Williams, eller ST 2 Lettaz och Yung Clova som deras artistalibin kallas.

ST 2 Lettaz: – Thanks for having us. Its our first time here, hopefully not the last.

What can we expect from your gig on friday?

Yung Clova: – High energy, a lot of crowd reaction. Big bass through the speakers, swag and good hiphop.

What's up with you driving through Sweden, hitting mooses all over the place?

ST 2 Lettaz: – No, we didnt actually hit the moose but I think one ran in front of the car. But Clova is a great driver so he dodged it like a boss!

How would you describe your music, and what influences you?

Yung Clova: – Our music is real spacey. We take techno, punk, dub and pop and put 808 up under them to give you a vision that you may be listening to dirty south rap. Then we spit from what we know and what we've been through. I call it technology rap. I know that back home my whole city is looking up to me to do some major things to help change our community.

You've been touring in Sweden and Norway for a few weeks now. What's your best tour memories so far?

ST 2 Lettaz: – Besides close encounters with Swedish wildlife I've thoroughly enjoyed watching all the pretty women ride around on bicycles. Where I'm from everyone drives so it's a bug change, but a change for the better because you get a better view on the bikes!

And now, for a more serious question, how close is G-side to the G-spot?

Yung Clova: – I can say that we're hitting it. And we're doing a very good job.

We want you to feel right at home this weekend, so how do we achieve that? What do you need?

ST 2 Lettaz: – Oh man we appreciate the hospitality! How about some hot wings, gummy bears, sweet stinky weed and a crowd that is ready to hear some G-shit! A couple of bug booty Swedes wouldn't be a bad addition either!

We'll se what we can do! So, finally, how will the crowd at Hoodlums feel just after you finished your gig?

Yung Clova: – If they wasn't fans they are now. They should love our Alabama swag and lingo. Real talk, I think everyone will love and respect us!
