Hej Eli Verveine!

Skivbolagsdirektör, radiohost, dj och filmfantast! Schweiziskan Eli Veveine har många bollar i luften. I år har hon redan hunnit hyllats som en utav de mest intressanta nykomlingarna, och hennes mixsets har uppmärksammats av bland annathouse-gudfadern Marshall Jefferson. På fredag kommer hon till Trunkfunk och vänder uppochner på Absinthbaren, så är du sugen på en kväll full av techno och house är det där du ska befinna dig!

Hi Eli! What's up?

– Hej! I'm good, excited to play at Trunkfrunk on friday!

Good to hear! What can we expect from the gig?

– My finest records for sure. I`m happy to be back in Gothenburg!

Have you been here before?

– Yes! A few years ago I played for my friends from Aniara Records and it was awesome. This night was special to me and over all, it was a great vibe on the dancefloor.

I read somewhere that the best word to describe you, as a person and as a musician, is ”honesty”. Do you agree?

– Maybe people feel that I'm not following any trends and my music selection is about what touches me. This is what I want to share with people on the dancefloor and I hope the dancers are touched the same way as I am.

What word would you use to describe yourself?

– My personality is too complex to express it in one word…

If you could pick any place in the entire world to play at, where would it be?

– It can be basically any place in the world, as long as a good soundsystem is provided and the dancers are open minded.

What’s the craziest thing that ever happened to you on a gig?

– Many funny things happen if you are djing. From a dropping ceiling to people starting a break dance session on the dance floor.

What’s the best music right now?

– That doesn`t exist in my perception. I can always find music that touches me and enjoy it in my state of mind.

There’s a filmfestival going on in Gothenburg this week. Are you a movie fan?

– Yes! I'm totally in love with good movies, regardless which genre. They just have to entertain me in any way.

What’s your favorite movie of all times?

– It`s almost impossible to take it down to one, there are so many good movies. But one that left a deep impression was definetly Stanley Kubrick`s "A Clockwork Orange". It`s truly a master piece in every detail, from drawing the story to art direction."Totoro" by Hayao Miyazaki needs to be mention as well. After watching it many times I`m still deeply stirred.
