Hej Deniz Kurtel!

Hi Deniz, welcome to Gothenburg!

– Hi, thank you!

Tell us a little bit about your gig on Friday! What can we expect from it?

– I met Trunkfunk through a remix I did for them last year (for March of No Coincidence) and I played for them in Berlin and been wanting to come to Sweden for a while. I'm happy and very excited that it finally worked out. I'll be playing a bunch of stuff from my new album The Way We Live mixed with some old stuff and also some new fresh remixes.

You've collaborated with so many great artists, but if you got to choose one musician, dead or alive, to work with, who would it be and why?

– The Marcy Allstars.

Considering that you work with light installations, I'd imagine you could pull off a pretty amazing light show… If you had unlimited amounts of money and a one of those massive festival stages, what would you do?

– I don't know, to me having the limitation is a big part of the fun, because it pushes me to be more creative. If I had unlimited amounts of money I'd probably spend on something else.

You've played all over the world, but what's the one gig you always look back at and think "that was the best one of them all"?

– I'm sure there are many more, but the first one that comes to my mind is the NYE party at the Electric Pickle in Miami last year.

How do you want us to react to your gig on Friday?

– Hope you just relax and get into the groove.

Alright, thank you very much, Deniz. I hope you'll have a great time here in Sweden!

– Thank you, looking forward!
