Nyzeeländaren Al Pitcher är bland det roligaste du kan se på en standup-scen just nu, och snart är det dags att dra igång nya showen Nääämen it's Al Pitcher på ett fullsatt Stora Teatern! Vi passade på att ställa några frågor till skrattmästaren, som hävdar att han faktiskt är en riktig Mr Boring privat.

Hi Al! What are you up to?

– I am drinking too much kaffe, I think I need it. Swedes encourage me to have it but they don’t see me crying at 4 am, because I can’t sleep 🙁

Ah, those Swedish coffee monsters … Tell us a bit about your new show!

– It’s very funny! If you don’t mind me saying that. It’s very interactive and I love the audience to be heroes. I am three shows into the tour and I am very proud of it, it’s like a new born child, i just want to show it off!

And we're eager to see it! How do you prepare yourself before going on stage? Is there a specific "ritual"?

– I used to vomit before each gig but, luckily for everyone concerned, I don’t do that anymore. It’s sold out in Gothenburg, so I will be extra nervous but I will do my 173 sit-ups nude, with one sock on, like I always do.

Impressive! You’ve been living in Sweden for like four years now – what’s your favourite sentence in Swedish?

– Aja baja lilla gubben (then a pause of 10 seconds and said louder) Neeeej aja baja lilla GUBBEN!!!

Have you heard about Gothenburg’s “ordvitsar”?

– Puns? Yes I know about them, I learnt it from a butcher, it was nice to MEAT him. I think it’s great that you have your own sense of comedy, bra jobb Göteborg!

Thanks! You’ll be on tour til mid december now, what are your plans after that?

– I will dress as Tomten, and then hopefully this tour will continue through 2015, it will definitely include coming back to Gothenburg, for sure.

We’re looking forward to that, then! So, you're spending a lot of time on stage, but what do you like to do on a night out?

– Oh, I am Mr Boring. Me and my wife have two kids and a night out is me and my wife eating a dinner telling each other we are so tired and talking about the kids. Comedy is the new rock ’n’ roll but I am bringing it back to the dull days. If I have two hot chocolates I go crazy.
